THE STORY OF SEW SATURDAY

Find out all about Sew Saturday and its continuing success since it started in 2015
2019 Highlight

2019 - THE BIGGEST ONE YET!

2019 saw Sew Saturday being transformed into the six-day Sewing Week event we know and love today! Every signed-up shop pulled out all the stops to make this event a resounding success. Those who popped along to the store were spoilt with bumper project packs and machine discounts, plus customers simply adored our llama mascots that could be whipped up into felt pincushions or made into a snuggly patchwork pillow.

2016 - BACK FOR MORE

The 2016 campaign was an even greater success, with 220+ shops nationwide signing up to take part. The Sew team held a seminar at CHSI Stitches earlier on in the year, offering advice on how to get the most out of Sew Saturday, which many retailers took to heart. Stitchers attended events to take part in workshops, make 'n' takes and take advantage of fabulous offers!

BACK IN 2015 - THE EVENT LAUNCHES

The very first Sew Saturday was launched on October 17th by Sew magazine, supported by Aceville Publications' entire department of crafting titles. It promoted the invaluable, personal service offered by bricks-and-mortar outlets and encouraged consumers across the UK to come in and support their local stores. 204 shops registered to take part and reported a huge increase in footfall and sales.
