Loveyourclothes.org.uk is a dedicated website that aims to raise awareness of the value of clothes and help you make the most of the ones you already own. The site focuses on encouraging people to think about the way they purchase, use and dispose of garments. To celebrate the launch of their ‘Back to School’ campaign, which encourages parents to keep the school uniform bill to a minimum and as much clothing out of landfill as possible by showing them how to mend and adjust existing uniforms to live another term.
Love Your Clothes has teamed up with two eco fashion experts to bring you this prize. Catherine Aitken, an Edinburgh based accessory designer, has created two bespoke satchel bags made from vintage jackets, one from Irish tweed and the other from Harris Tweed. Plus, to help you make use of your old clothing, we have two copies of Girls Get Stitching by Shirley Mclaughlan (£14.99, C&T Publishing) to give away. Visit www.loveyourclothes.org.uk to find out more about the project. To view Catherine Aitken’s full range of accessories, visit www.catherineaitken.com
