So, what is Sewing Week?

If you’re a keen quilter, savvy stitcher or an avid dressmaker, then be sure to mark this date in your diary!
From 28th September to 3rd October 2020, independent fabric and haberdashery shops across the UK and Northern Ireland will be opening their doors and welcoming everyone in for an enjoyable week of sewing treats and workshops. Originally launched in 2015 by Sew magazine, this annual campaign was created to celebrate and support brick-and-mortar stores by encouraging the stitching community to visit their local store and discover the brilliant things it can offer, all while socialising and having fun with like-minded crafters.

Many who have taken part report the best day's trading since Christmas and, in many cases, for the entire year! Not only do sales spike, but footfall also increases with a new customer base discovering their local businesses for the first time, along with attendance from devoted regulars, making this a valuable event for the industry as a whole.
