About this pattern

Get ready to have sew much fun making Corinne Bradd's axolotl mum and baby pattern.

Whether you're a sewing beginner or just looking for a cute toy project you can whip up in one afternoon, this simple pattern is perfect for you. Inside your pack, you'll find templates to create both a large and small-sized axolotl; the instructions for both makes are exactly the same, so you can quickly make a whole family to cuddle. You'll also learn how to backstitch, oversew and whipstitch to bring these underwater pals to life. Grab your fabric and let's dive in...

Essentials

  • Cotton fabric, assorted shades of pink
  • Embroidery thread, assorted shades
  • Black beads: 5mm, 7mm
  • Fibre filling
  • Lightweight quilt wadding or felt scraps
  • Pinking shears
  • We used Art Gallery Fabrics' Pure Solids range for the axolotl fronds and fills. For the axolotl bodies, we used Spraytime by Makower UK.
