About this pattern

Bring a little elf-made magic to your sewing basket with this jolly festive character!

This project is packed with techniques to practise, from adding shaped limbs and neat seam allowances to stuffing, slip-stitching and hand-sewing the finished pieces together. You’ll also get creative with embroidered facial features and yarn hair, learning how to make a fringed hairstyle and plaited pigtails before giving your elf a jaunty metallic hat. Metallic braid, ric rac, pom-pom trim and a tiny bell provide plenty of opportunities to practise decorative finishing.

Top sewing tip

Leave the limbs slightly under-stuffed at the top, making them easier to fold, close and attach neatly to your elf’s body.
