Treat a loved-up couple to our Happily Ever After Hoop. Create your very own fairytale ending with Carolyn Letten’s embroidery hoop. Made using appliqué and free motion stitches, this romantic project will also provide a brilliant opportunity for you to step up your machine embroidery skills. For beginners who need to ease into this, simply use a smaller hoop when free machining the flowers and gently move it around the fabric as required.
Download and print the template from sewmag.co.uk. Cut a circle of aqua fabric, 38cm diameter. Place the outer hoop underneath the material, then lay the fabric centrally on top. Push the inner hoop down into place, then carefully tighten up the screw.
Trace the words onto tissue paper, place it centrally in the hoop and secure with tape or a pin. Place a thin piece of felt, the same colour as the fabric, underneath the material behind the words. Use a dark turquoise thread to free machine embroider once over the lines. Tear the paper away, sew over them again and fill in the letters. Trim off any excess felt at the back of the hoop.
Cut out the various flowers from plain fabric. From the prints, snip two pink flowers, one pink petal flower centre and eight mini flowers. Cut out eight big and two small dark green leaves. Snip out four big and four small light green leaves. Cut out five daffodil leaf tips from patterned green fabric. Back all of the elements with iron on interfacing.
