About this pattern

Ready to take your patchwork prowess up a notch? Part two of our four-part sew-along brings you patchwork trousers that are as fun to make as they are to wear!

Perfect for confident beginners, this five-step pattern builds on the skills from the patchwork dress, with added flair like star-shaped appliqué knee patches, an easy-peasy elasticated waist, and cuffs for a tailored fit. Designed for little movers aged 3 to 4, these funky trousers give you a great opportunity to mix and match your most fun and flamboyant fabrics.

Essentials

  • Fabric, cotton: printed; plain
  • Elastic, 2cm wide

    Top sewing tip

Use a pressing cloth over the adhesive sheet when ironing to protect the fabric and ensure even heat distribution when bonding. If the edges lift, reapply heat briefly to secure the appliqué firmly in place.
