Based on a traditional Japanese Rice Bag, or Komebukuro, this beautiful drawstring bag is made from simple squares and has an easy drawstring closure. Stitch it up from your favourite fabrics in a size to suit your needs, the Japanese Rice Bag will hold a surprising amount of stuff, even when made from 15cm squares. Make it patchwork, add a funky lining, or even pad it out with quilt wadding to make a sturdy everyday bag with extra long drawstrings that double up as shoulder straps.
