Sunflower Coasters
We're on a mission to cheer up coffee tables across the nation! How are we going about it? Well, with these sunflower coasters of course! These practical floral circles from designer Corinne Bradd can be made in just under 30 minutes, leaving just enough time to make a brew to perch on top.
Essentials
- Fabric, assorted cotton fat quarters
- Felt
1 Cut an 11.5cm felt circle and cover with printed fabric, 13cm square. Fold the edges of the material over the felt and slip-stitch to the reverse, gathering the excess as you do so. Snip several 5cm x 6cm pieces of contrast fabric. Fold in half, right sides facing out, to make 2.5cm x 6cm strips.
2 Crease in the middle and fold each half down diagonally to make a triangle. Tack the fold to hold the triangles in place. Pin the triangles around the edge of the circle, ensuring all raw edges are within the circumference. Oversew them in place with small stitches. Cut a 12cm felt circle and oversew to the back of the work to cover all raw edges.
