About this pattern

Get creative in the kitchen with Carolyn Letten's embroidered baking set.

This waist apron, with matching hot pad, is just the thing for a passionate baker – especially if their speciality is banana bread! In a refreshing palette of soft blues and lilacs, topped off with a bright pop of yellow, you can keep clothes clean and hot tins out of the way, all while celebrating being the baking queen (or king) you are.

Essentials

  • Fabric, skinny quarters (25cm x 112cm): pale blue, lilac, blue floral; assorted yellow prints, brown scraps; calico for backing
  • Bias binding: yellow, 2.5cm x 4m; navy spot, 2.5cm x 1.5m
  • Thin piping cord, 70cm
  • Iron-on interfacing
  • Wadding

    Top sewing tip

Interfacing will make your project look bright as it stops the colour underneath from showing through.
