About this pattern

This children’s skirt, suitable for ages 2–4, is stitched from plain cottons in dreamy pastel shades, perfect for beginners.

It features easy peasy English paper piecing and an elasticated waist for maximum wiggle room while kids play, and once you've whipped up your rainbow arches the skirt comes together in just three steps, so stay tuned as there’s a matching dolly outfit released in part four.

Essentials

  • Fabric: plain cottons in assorted pastel rainbow shades; plain white cotton
  • Narrow elastic
  • Water-based glue stick

    Top sewing tip

Attach a safety pin to one end of the elastic to guide it smoothly through the fabric channel without twisting or snagging.
