Essentials
- Ribbons, assorted
- Embroidery hoop
Prepare 15 strips of ribbon in different shades and thicknesses, making sure to include some with wired edges so they can be moulded into shape. Play with colour, then trim into sections, 18cm long. Lay out as you’d like to attach them to the hoop, checking you’re happy with the tonal arrangement.
Tie four strips from the same ribbon to the top, then repeat at the base and at each side, dividing the circle into quarters. Take the next colour and tie to the side of each of the first set.
Continue in this way, repeating the order of the ribbons to ensure an even distribution of tones. When completed, fasten a loop of ribbon around the top for hanging.
