Sew a Russian doll
Wash and press all fabrics before you begin. Using the templates located at www.sewmag.co.uk, cut the top front piece from Wildflowers Blaze fabric and the bottom front from Wildflowers Lagoon. Using a 6mm seam allowance, sew them together, right sides facing. Press the seam.
For the doll’s face, use transfer paper and pens to copy the design onto white felt. Alternatively, embroider the features for added texture. Once you are happy with the face, cut out the shape and position it on the head. Sew using a machine zig zag stitch to secure.
Using the template, cut the back piece from Sweetish Seafoam fabric. Place the front and back pieces right sides together, pin and sew using a 6mm seam allowance, leaving a gap at the bottom for turning.
Snip the curves to prevent the shape from scrunching. Turn the doll out. Fill with stuffing. Hand stitch the gap closed. Add small red sequins to the cheeks to finish.
