Make a circle coaster

    1. Iron fusible webbing to the back of white felt, red spotty felt and blue spotty fabric. Download and print the templates, place each shape onto the corresponding fabrics, draw around them and cut out.

    2. Iron the white circle piece to the blue spotty fabric, then position the teacup in the middle. Iron on the blue ‘T’ on top of the cup. Using white sewing cotton, hand sew around the felt shapes close to the edge. Sew around the blue ‘T’ using blue cotton.

    3. Sandwich insulated lining between the blue circle with the cup and the red spotty felt circle with the wrong sides facing together and iron in place.

    4. Using sharp scissors, trim approximately 4mm away from the edge to neaten up all the layers. With four strands of blue embroidery thread, work around the edge of the disc using blanket stitch.

Stitch a ‘give way’ coaster

    1. Iron fusible webbing to the back of spotty red cotton fabric, white felt and black cotton. Download and print the templates, place each shape onto the corresponding fabrics, draw around them and cut out.

    2. Iron the red triangle onto the white triangle. Position the black letters inside the triangle and iron in place. Using matching sewing cotton, stitch the edge of the red triangle and black letters all the way around to secure them to the coaster.

    3. With the wrong sides facing together, sandwich insulating lining between the white triangle and red spotty felt with the wrong sides facing and iron in place.

    4. Using sharp scissors, trim approximately 4mm away from the edge to neaten up all the layers. With red embroidery thread, work around the edge using blanket stitch.

Sew a ‘tea permit’ coaster

    1. Iron fusible webbing to the back of spotty blue cotton fabric, white felt and black cotton. Download and print the templates, place each shape onto the corresponding fabrics, draw around them and cut out.

    2. Iron the blue rectangle to the white rectangle around the edge. Iron the blue spotty fabric square to the left of the white rectangle. Fuse the white felt ‘P’ to the middle of the blue square. Arrange the wording to the right of this and iron in place.

    3. Using corresponding thread, hand sew around all the letters, blue square, the white felt ‘P’ and the blue fabric rectangle.

    4. Sandwich the insulating lining between the white rectangle and the red spotty felt with the wrong sides facing and iron in place. Using sharp scissors trim approximately 4mm away from the edge. Using blue embroidery thread and blanket stitch, sew all the way around the edge of the coaster.
